Human Resource Generalist

Elite Staffing, a premier Staffing Firm in Sioux City, IA is seeking qualified applicants for a Human Resources Generalist for one of our clients. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare new hire paperwork and benefit packages, coordinate scheduling of new hire onboarding and training and pre-employment drug testing.
  • Conducts new employee orientations, ensuring all paperwork is completed thoroughly and timely.
  • Recruit, source, and interview candidates
  • Administers health and welfare plans including enrollments and terminations.
  • Coordinates and conducts insurance benefit meetings for new hires to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
  • Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
  • Help HR Manager with attendance monitoring.
  • Manages annual open enrollment period
  • Processes monthly billings from insurance providers. Reviews billings for accuracy and submits to VP of Finance/HR for final approval.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the company wellness program
  • Strives to ensure employee understanding of benefit programs by regularly generating communication and counseling employees/dependents as situations arise. Resolves employee complaints related to health and welfare plans.
  • Maintaining the HRIS databases and electronic files in regard to applicant tracking, new hires, terminations and other employee changes.
  • Help HR Manager maintain employee records, including but not limited to training, appraisals, personnel files, etc.
  • Management of workers compensation claims, including tracking of claims for OSHA reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Programs
